Power
Point Colors
Colors can be divided into two general
categories: Cool (such as blue and green) and Warm
(such as orange and red). Cool colors work best for
backgrounds as they appear to recede away from us
into the background. Warm colors generally work best
for objects in the foreground (text) because they
appear to be coming at us.
Similarly, dark text on a light background will maintain
its visual intensity a bit better than light text
on a dark background in environments where ambient
light could pose a challenge.
Since color evokes feelings, studies show that color
usage can increase interest and improve learning
comprehension and retention. Our Graphics Department
will be happy to consult with you as you create your
next presentation for a boardroom of 3 people or
a General Session for 3000 people.
